Duo Mujeres Solidarias Group
In this Group: Rosa Maria , Marcela
MUJERES SOLIDARIAS [Supportive Women]

This duo was formed by Rosa Maria, who is 37 years old, married and the mother of 5 children who still live with her and who go to school in town. She is the leader of the group. She tells us she needs this loan to be able to buy materials she needs to make clay comales [clay dishes to make tamales]. This has been her job for 20 years. She also wants to buy comales that are already made to sell them, because soon it will be the season when comales start to sell really well. She also needs the firewood to buy a lot of firewood, which us what she needs the most to make the comales. With her hard work and effort, she also hopes to keep supporting her children, since lately her husband doesn't want them to go to school anymore because it costs a lot. She doesn't want them to work because the only jobs they could do are making wicks or fireworks, but that is very dangerous, so she wants them to stay in school. She hopes you will support her so she can help her children.

MUJERES SOLIDARIAS

About FAPE

FAPE, the Foundation for the Assistance of Small Businesses, is a nonprofit, socially-minded institution that provides loans to micro-entrepreneurs across Guatemala.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
