Amalia is married with three children. She is 48 years old and lives in the Philippines. Amalia earns a living by providing transportation services to local community members. She's been doing this for 26 years, and every month she earns PHP 6,000 from this work. She has requested a loan of PHP 20,000 to repair a vehicle used in the transport business. In 2007, Amalia joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. In the future, Amalia hopes to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
