Mohammad is a 40-year-old Lebanese married man. His four children are all studying. He’s their main source of income and the one covering their study fees. He has had his own business as an electrician since year 2000. His work consists of setting and installing home electricity. He works upon request on a free-lance basis. Today, he asks for a loan from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l, to buy a scanner machine for his business. This will definitely develop his work, and thus his profits. In the future, he plans to improve his work and earn a higher income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
