Basel is a thirty-six-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and one child who is still attending school. He collaborates with his wife who has been working in a local school since 2008 in order to enhance their way of living. As for Basel, he has owned a library for the past nine years. In parallel, he teaches in one of the local schools and has done for seven years.
Today, he’s looking to take a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase stationary and books for his library. Definitely, this will develop his business and help him earn a superior income. In the future, he plans to focus on one job and better support his family.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
