Youssef is a sixty-one-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children who are still attending school. He strives to work really hard to be able to fulfill his family needs. He started to work as a taxi driver in 1978 on a free-lance basis. He’s a good man and has gained a fair number of customers so far.
Today, he’s in need of a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to pay his car’s mechanical fees in addition to painting it. He notes that this will improve his work and allow him to transport his clients safely. In the future, he plans to enhance his work and hire someone to work on his behalf.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
