Ramona is from Poblacion, Pana-on, Misamis Occidental. She is sixty-nine years old. Ramona is widowed and has ten children. To make a living, Ramona operates a gardening business venture. Ramona has been in her business for thirty-one years and earns 2,000 PHP a month from these activities.
In 2008, Ramona joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Ramona is requesting a new loan of 5,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise. She plans to use the additional revenue to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
