The representative of this group is named Delphine, and she is the one in the photo with her hand raised. Delphine is 54 years old and married to an electrician by the name of Vincent. They have four children, but only two of them are in their care. Among the children, some have had schooling.

Delphine did not attend school. She lives together with her children to support and her husband. She and her husband jointly ensure that the diverse household expenses are covered.

For about twenty years, Delphine has been selling beads, and she sells jewelry secondarily in the villages of Benin. She gets her supplies from a city in Benin.

This is the second time that Delphine and the other members of the group NOUSSISSI have requested a loan from Alidé. This loan will enable them to bolster their businesses to respond better to the demands of their customers. The first loan has been repaid.

Le groupement NOUSSISSI est composé de quatorze personnes qui habitent dans le même quartier et exercent des activités génératrices de revenu au Bénin. La représentante de ce groupement, nommée Delphine est celle dont la main est levée sur la photo. Delphine est âgée de 54 ans, et est mariée à un électricien du nom de Vincent. Le couple a quatre enfants, mais seulement deux sont à leur charge. Parmi les enfants, certains sont scolarisés. Delphine n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Delphine vit ensemble avec ses enfants à charge et son mari ; et assure ensemble avec son mari les diverses charges de la maison. Depuis une vingtaine d’année, Delphine vend des perles et de façon secondaire des bijoux dans des villages du Benin. Delphine s’approvisionne dans une ville du Benin. C’est la deuxième fois que Delphine et les autres membres du groupement NOUSSISSI sollicitent un crédit auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit leur permettra de renforcer leur activité afin de mieux répondre à la demande de leur clientèle. Le premier crédit a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
