Sophal, 33, is married and resides with her mother, her husband and two children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has been working as a garment worker for over two years, earning approximately USD 3 per day. Her husband works as a palm fruit harvester and earns approximately USD 5 per day.
Due to the difficulty with the family’s transportation, Sophal is requesting a loan of USD 1,000 to purchase a motorbike for commuting. This purchase would enable her to use the saved money from her transportation expenses to support her family.
In the future, she would like to run a small pig farm and help her children get Bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she plans to build a house to live separately from her mother.
