Yav is a 33-year-old married woman with four children who has been residing in Pouk district of Siem Reap province. The family’s main source of income comes from their rice crops. Her husband also sells animals to add to their income. On her part, Yav is skillful in weaving mats from a special type of grass.

There are difficulties, however, in Yav’s family’s situation due to their lack of a family vehicle for transporting her mats to market and providing transportation for the entire family.

So now Yav is applying for her third loan in the amount of 1,000 USD from HKL through Kiva to purchase a used motorcycle to satisfy and serve her family. In the future, Yav wants to save money to expand her family’s businesses further.
