Pov is 41 years old and married with four single children. She lives with her family in Ornlong Veng, a district of Siem Reap province. For over 30 years, the family has been involved in agriculture, which helped them to have stable source of income through the years. Pov's commonly cultivated crops are potatoes, beans, and especially rice.
Pov is preparing her soil to grow dry-season rice, so she really needs some funds to pay for the farming process and buy farming supplies such as fertilizers, seed, and pesticide. Her loan will allow Pov to earn more income and invest in her farm's further expansion in the future.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
