Youssef is a 43-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and five children. One of them is working and the others are still attending school. He’s is the one taking care of his family and covering their heavy life expenses.
Youssef started his own work in 1987. He has been working as a car mechanic in his own garage and has a fair number of customers asking for his services. In parallel, he has been working in car trading for more than ten years.
Today, he’s looking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy new mechanic's tools for his business in order to respond rapidly to his clients’ problems and therefore improve his work. He believes that acting properly is really essential to attract more and added customers. In the future, he plans to open his own car showroom.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
