Roman is 59 years old. He lives in the village of Dimi in West Georgia with his family: wife Manana and two daughters (22 and 21 years old). Roman’s younger daughter is a student and the elder one works as a hotel administrator in a nearby town.
Roman and Manana lead the agricultural business for the family, which is the main source of the income for the family. In particular, the family runs a small dairy farm with 2 milk cows and a calf. Manana produces cheese and sells on average 12 kilos of this product each Friday at the open market in the nearby town. Along with the dairy farm, the family owns a vineyard with 1200 vine-trees. Roman produces wine and sells it in the village. The total average monthly income for the family is 1000 Laris.
Roman requested credit to purchase a tractor. He will cultivate the land owned by the family where vegetables will be grown. Roman will sell the harvested vegetables. Also, Roman will use the tractor to provide seasonal agricultural services to local farmers. This will significantly increase the income for his family and they will be able to improve their living conditions.
