Piruz is 66 years old. She lives in the village of Meore Obcha in West Georgia with her husband Zurab. Piruz and Zurab are retired.
Along with their monthly pensions, which totals 220 Laris per month, the main source of the income for the family is agriculture. They have a milk cow. Piruz produces cheese and sells it in the local market. Also the family owns a pig and sells on average 10 piglets per month. Along with the above-mentioned, Piruz and Zurab own a vineyard with 1000 vine-trees. Zurab produces wine and sells it in local market as well. The total average monthly income for the family is 550 Laris, including their monthly pensions.
Piruz requested credit to purchase an additional milk cow. With two milk cows, she will be able to double the production and sales of cheese. This will significantly increase the income for the family. They will be able to purchase additional household goods to improve their living conditions.
