Amelita works hard to provide for her family. She runs a sari-sari store, or general store, in the Philippines. She has requested a loan in the amount of 25,000 PHP through NWTF in order to purchase additional items to stock and to sell.
Prior to this loan, Amelita has borrowed and repaid 14 loans from NWTF. She has been running the sari-sari store for seven years and also earns an income from buying and selling copra, dried coconut meat used for oil production.
Amelita aspires to build and expand her business in order to secure her family’s future.

On Friday November 8, 2013, Super Typhoon Haiyan made its way through Southeast Asia, causing substantial damage to homes and businesses in areas of the Philippines.
