The “Cordillera” communal bank will start its first cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Santiago II Focal Center. It has 11 members and a governing board headed by Mercedez. The members of this communal bank carry out a variety of businesses among which we have: car washing, antenna sales, stockings and children’s clothes sales, shoe making, soft-drink sales, underwear sales, costume jewelry sales, glassware and beer sales.

Mercedez indicates that she’s participating in a communal bank for the first time and she currently has a car washing service that she’s had for several years having learned it from her neighbors. The loan this cycle is to expand the business.

She will buy a car washing machine from distributors and then will install it in her workplace. This way of working allows her to support her family for she’s unmarried and has four children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answer that she likes training in health and credit.

La A.C. “CORDILLERA” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Santiago II. Está compuesta por once integrantes y cuentan con una mesa directiva a la cabeza de la misma se encuentra la señora Mercedez. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos tenemos: lavado de autos, venta de antenas, venta de medias y ropa de niños, confección de calzados, venta de refrescos, venta de ropa interior, venta de bisutería, cristalería, venta de cerveza.

La señora Mercedez, indica que forma parte de una asociación comunal por primera vez y que en la actualidad ella cuenta con un negocio de lavado de autos, que viene trabajando hace años, aprendiendo el mismo de sus vecinos. El crédito de este ciclo es para ampliación de su negocio (compra de máquina de lavado de autos) este producto los comprará de las empresas distribuidoras y posteriormente lo instalará en su espacio de trabajo. Esta forma de trabajo le permite apoyar a su familia pues ella no es casada y tiene cuatro hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones del área de salud y de crédito.
