Consolee is 40 years old and is married with six children between 7 and 20 years old. She sells rice. Consolee is a leader of this group which is called "ABADAHEMUKIRANA C20006" in the local language. In the photo, she's the one who is in the red T-shirt. This is her 12th year in this business and the hours of her business are from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. except on the weekend. Consolee currently employs five people to help her.

Consolee has requested a Kiva loan via Vision Finance Company to expand her agriculture business by purchasing more fertilizer to cultivate larger quantities of rice to sell. With any profits, she will be able to save for her future and to pay school fees for her children.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
