Chhun is a single mother of six children living in Prey Chor district, Kompong Cham province. She has worked as a local rice cultivator for many years, generating around 1.50 USD per day. She has 6 children: 3 are married and 3 are single. Presently some of them are employed in different careers and workplaces. But they always share a part of their income to help the family with its daily expenses.
Now Chhun is taking out this loan from HKL in order to purchase piglets, feed and to build a new pigpen. For her plan, Chhun will strive to work harder to upgrade her standard of living.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
