Kao is 50 years old, married, and a responsible mother of eight children. She lives in Prey Chor district of Kompong Cham province. She has spent most of her lifetime dedicated to farming, cultivating rice and potatoes. She works alongside her spouse and two children who help her in this business.
At present Kao would like to acquire some funds from HKL and Kiva to pay for rented land, on which she is preparing to plant potatoes in a new cycle. This is Kao's first loan with our MFI. It will be very useful for Kao’s family’s business. It will enable her to further improve her business.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
