Maya is 45 years old. She lives in a small village of the Zestponi district in West Georgia. Maya is married and lives with her husband Tariel and four-year-old daughter.
Maya and Tariel earn a living through agriculture. They have two milk cows and a calf in a small dairy farm. Maya produces traditional West Georgian cheese. Also the family owns two pigs and sells on average 20 piglets in the village. Along with the abovementioned the family has 100 hens. Maya and Tariel sell cheese and eggs on the local open market. The total average monthly income of the family is 1200 Laris.
Maya requested credit for purchasing calves. She will grow them for five to six months and sell the grown calves in late summer for a higher price. The family will get additional income, which will be used for improving their living conditions.
