Kassem is a 22-year-old Lebanese single man. He lives with his parents and three siblings who are all studying. Kassem’s father is the main income provider in the family and their only support. For this reason, Kassem decided to start his own business, hoping to help his father with their expenses. After two years of experience as a barber, he opened his own barber shop in 2009. He is now requesting to borrow a youth loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase new barbering tools. In that way, he will be able to gain added clients and improve his business. In the future, he plans to enlarge his salon and hire people to work with him.
