Gloria is from Sto. Niño, Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur. She is 51 years old. Gloria is married and has two children. To make a living, Gloria owns and operates a fishing business, selling seafood products, including fish and shrimp, in the local community. Gloria has been in her business for four years and earns 4,000 Philippines pesos (PHP) a month.
In 2008, Gloria joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. Gloria is requesting a new loan of 8,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase additional fish to sell. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
