Elizabeth is a married woman and has three children. She is 60 years old and resides in Sto. Niño, Tukuran Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines.
Elizabeth owns and operates a general store, selling a variety of different products to earn a living. She has been in this business for seven years and each month she earns PHP 3,000. She requested a loan of PHP 7,000 to purchase new items to expand her product offering. In 2008, Elizabeth joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. In the future, Elizabeth wants to build a house and help her children finish their studies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
