Hussein is a 42-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and four school-aged children. He is the one responsible for covering their heavy expenses and paying their study fees. Hussein decided to take on his own his family responsibilities and start his own business. For this reason, he opened his own butchery and bakery in 2006.
Today, Hussein is seeking a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a generator for his business. With a generator, he will be able to facilitate his business and augment his sales. In the future, he plans to raise cattle and start his own dairy products trading business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
