Hussein, 54, is a married Lebanese man living with his wife and four children. Two of his children are working and the others are still attending school. He joins forces with his wife in order to satisfy their needs and to be able to live as they should. He opened his own shoe factory in 1987 and also has his own shop where he targets a wider range of clients. Today, he is seeking a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new collection of shoes for his shop. He notes that this loan will certainly push him to get higher returns. In the future, he plans to open other branches.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
