Ali is a 36-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children, both of whom are studying. He’s doing the best he can to offer a respectable life for his family and pay his children's study fees. He has been working in the decorating business since 2008. He’s specialized in installing gypsum boards (also known as dry wall) and creating new decoration designs. Today, he’s in need of a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase additional gypsum boards and decoration supplies in order to further develop his business, and thus increase his profits. In the future, he seeks to open his own gallery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
