Bilal is a forty-nine-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children who still attend school. Since he’s the main income provider for his family, Bilal is doing the best he can to satisfy their needs. He has run a furniture making shop since 1987. He has his loyal customers and is looking forward to further expanding his business.
Today, he wants to borrow a loan from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l, to purchase additional materials for his business such as wood, sponges, textiles and many other items. This Kiva loan will increase his productivity thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to open his own furniture gallery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
