Igor
Igor is a farmer in Gladkovka. On one-fifth of a hectare of land, each season he grows 4,000 cucumber plants in greenhouses, as well as 2 tons of early potatoes. Igor has been farming for four years and has invested a significant sum in his farm - around 70,000 hryvnias. His net income amounts to slightly over 3,000 hryvnias.

Igor needs to borrow additional funds totalling 7,000 hryvnias to purchase plastic film for 4,500 hryvnias and re-cover his greenhouses for the new season. The remaining 2,500 hryvnias will be spent on quality seeds from which he will grow sprouts. His business allows Igor to generate enough income to support his family, and this is very important in a region where employment opportunities are often sparse.
