Duo Nohemi Group
In this Group: Rosa Felipa , Maria Gregoria
"Duo Nohemi" consists of Rosa Felipa, a 26-year-old married mother of a 4-year-old daughter, Estefany. Rosa has made a living for the past five years selling groceries out of a tiny storefront that she and her husband run out of their home. Currently she sells a small number of school supplies, and she has seen kids come looking for other items that she doesn't have. For that reason, she wants to invest more in these kinds of products like crayons, markers, stationery, and other items. The other member of the group is Gregoria, who for a number of years has made a living selling all kinds of things to support her husband and their four children. She currently sells napkins, cleaning supplies, cosmetics and perfumes via catalog, and what she earns helps her eldest daughter, who is attending second grade. Both women need to keep working but require capital to continue providing customers what they want.

About FAPE

FAPE, the Foundation for the Assistance of Small Businesses, is a nonprofit, socially-minded institution that provides loans to micro-entrepreneurs across Guatemala.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
