Soung is 38 years old and a mother of five single children. She helps her husband, a motor-taxi driver, to earn income by collecting and purchasing recycled materials through the whole commune of Reussey Keo, Phnom Penh city.
Presently, her family owns a long-used motorcycle, which always has some mechanical problems while her husband is providing his service. To solve this problem, Soung is coming to HKL again to borrow her ninth loan to purchase a motorcycle for both household use and business use. She hopes that her living status will become better through using the loan from our lenders.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
