Saturnino is one of 21 members of the village bank “Sumac Ayllu” located in the Andean highlands of Cusco. Saturnino is 53 years old. He is married and has three children between the ages of 29 and 33.
He owns a hardware shop where he offers services to construct metal structures. He has been engaged in this business for five years and is requesting a loan in order to purchase cement, which he plans to sell in his shop. With this loan, Saturnino looks forward to increasing sales and expanding his business.

Arariwa serves the southern Andean provinces of Peru, and is distinguished by its efforts to reach the very poor, who often live in isolated rural areas. Arariwa fosters village banking, supports savings accounts, promotes access to education, and empowers women entrepreneurs (who make up 78% of its borrowers).
