Lucia is a member of the communal bank "God is Love" group that is made up of 7 responsible people who do different commercial activities for a living. Lucia is 54 years old and is separated with 9 children, 2 of which are still dependents. It was more than 20 years ago that Lucia began the ambulatory selling of fruit, candy and beverages, the majority of her clients being people that travel to the center of the country. She is proud of her strength to be able to progress her children alone, as she is a single mother. The money that she receives is of much help for her since it allows her to continue supporting her children. Lucia has a goal to install a grocery store since this assures her that she will have greater income. In this opportunity, she is requesting the loan to purchase soda, mineral water, and fruit to offer to her clients. The communal bank "God is Love" is grateful for the loan since it makes their progress possible. Lucia is the one that you see in the black sweater and green vest. At the bottom are Leidi and Yrene's photographs.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
