IFE IBODUN 1 is a group made up of three women who live in the same neighborhood. Estelle is the representative of the group, and she is the one raising her hand in the photo. She is 38 years old and married to a man named François. The couple has four children, all in their care. Some of the children are in school. Estelle lives with her husband and children and takes care of the various family expenses with her husband.

Estelle left school at the elementary level. For about eight years, she has been selling jewelry and cosmetic products in Benin. She buys her goods at a market in Benin.

In order to meet the needs of her customers, and to increase her turnover, she is requesting a first loan from ALIDé, along with the other members of the IFE IBODUN 1 group.

Le groupe IFE IBODUN 1 est composé de trois personnes qui vivent dans le même quartier. La représentante de ce groupe, nommée Estelle, est celle dont la main est levée sur la photo. Estelle est âgée de 38 ans et est mariée à un certain François. Le couple a quatre enfants, dont certains sont scolarisés. Tous les enfants sont à leur charge. Estelle vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants et assure ensemble avec son mari les diverses charges de la famille. Estelle a arrêté l’école au niveau primaire. Il y a près de huit ans que Estelle mène comme activité, la vente de bijoux et des produits cosmétiques au Benin. Estelle s'approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d'affaire, Estelle sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe IFE IBODUN 1, un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
