Imad is a 35-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two children, who are still attending school. Since he’s the main income provider for his family, Imad is doing the best he can to satisfy their needs. He opened a furniture workshop in 2002 and already has 15 years of experience in this domain. He has his loyal customers and is looking forward to further expand his business.
Today, he’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase added materials for his business such as wood, sponges, furniture paintings and many other items. This Kiva loan will increase his productivity, thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to open his own furniture gallery.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
