Ahmad is a 48-year-old, Lebanese man. He is married and has four children, one of whom works while the others are still studying.
Ahmad is under pressure to provide his family with a respectable way of living. This is why he started his own business. In 2008, he opened a mobile-phone shop, where he also sells recharge cards and all related accessories.
Today, Ahmad has decided to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase additional mobile phones and recharge cards for his mobile-phone shop. This Kiva loan will enable him to increase his sales and profits -- thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to expand his business offerings.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
