Tony is a 32-year-old Lebanese single man who lives with his parents. He’s the main source of income for his parents and they really depend on him. He has been working as a school bus driver since 2006 and has his loyal customers. In parallel, he has been working as a teacher at a local school since 2000. Today, he needs to take out a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renew the seats of his bus, as well as its engine, otherwise he may lose his loyal and trusting customers. This Kiva loan will allow him transport children safely. In the future, he plans to focus on one job to better support his family.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
