Yan is 39 years old. Her priority in life is to uplift her family out of poverty and provide further education to her children. She has been blessed with 4 children, all of whom are single. Presently, Yan works as a local farmer cultivating rice crops from Prey Chor district of Kompong Cham province. She has her husband who helps manage the rice field.
Yan doesn’t own any vehicle for use yet, so she is taking out her first loan from HKL as well as Kiva to purchase a motorcycle to satisfy the family’s requirements. She’s very happy with the given loan because it’ll better her family and reduce some expenses on transportation fees.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
