Zulma, 55, lives in Cartagena de Indias. She is married and has 4 children, ages 26-33. Her business is making fried foods and selling soft drinks, a business which she began with little working capital but helped by the most important beer company in Colombia. Her client base grew gradually and with it her working capital. She joined the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation in the program of communal groups to gain enough capital to buy on credit and in greater volume. Up to now she has received 6 loans and they have helped her acquire some property and especially for the possibility of buying on credit from her suppliers. She has also succeeded in converting her business to her main source of income for her home. Currently she is applying for Kiva financing, her seventh through the Foundation, and she will use it to buy cartons of soft drinks and ingredients to make the delicious foods that her customers like. Her goal is to continue developing as an entrepreneur and also to be independent. The success of her investment is in getting discounts and a good variety of products in the first third of the year. This demands a big investment to support her sales during parties and festivals for her customers.

Zulma de 55 años de edad vive en la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias es una mujer casada que tiene 4 hijos en las edades de 26 a 33 años. Ella tienen un negocio de producción de productos fritos y venta de refrescos, el cual inició con muy poco capital de trabajo y apoyada por la mas importante empresa de cervezas en Colombia. Gradualmente su negocio creció en clientela y con ello en capital de trabajo y se vinculó a la Fundación Mario Santo Domingo en el programa de grupos solidarios, para lograr un capital con el cual comprar de contado y en mayor proporción. Desde ese momento ha recibido 6 financiamientos, con los que ha logrado adquirir bienes inmuebles y sobre todo la posibilidad de comprar de contado a sus proveedores y también ha logrado convertir su negocio en su principal fuente de ingresos del hogar. En la actualidad está aplicando a un credikiva, séptimo financiamiento que hace ala Fundación, con el que comprará refrescos por cajas e insumos, para elaborar los deliciosos productos alimenticios que prepara y que a su clientela le gusta. Su meta es continuar creciendo empresarialmente y también en su autonomía.El éxito de su inversión radica en lograr descuentos y un surtido importante en el primer trimestre del año, que exige una gran inversión para responder a su clientela en las fiestas y festivos..
