In the pursuit of satisfying his clientele and in order to expand his business, Ayodélé Laurent is seeking his second loan through ALIDé along with the other members of the Dodokpo Group. DODOKPO est un groupe de trois personnes, dont les membres se connaissent de par leurs activités. Le représentant du groupe, Ayodélé Laurent (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgé de 41 ans. Ayodélé Laurent est marié à une revendeuse du nom de Colette. Le couple a six enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Ayodélé Laurent vit ensemble avec sa femme et ses enfants. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges de la maison. Ayodélé Laurent a arrêté l’école au niveau primaire et a appris ensuite la soudure. Pour faire face à ses différentes charges, Ayodélé Laurent exerce depuis seize ans dans sa région, la soudure, activité qui lui procure des revenus non négligeables. De façon secondaire, Ayodélé Laurent vend des bouteilles de gaz. Ayodélé Laurent s’approvisionne dans des villes du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et en vue d’élargir son activité, Ayodélé Laurent sollicite un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe DODOKPO. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits. Le premier prêt a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
