The Mahudjro 19 group is made up of three people who are friends and who live in the same neighbourhood. This is the third time that the group requests financial aid from ALIDé, in order to raise the level of their activity. The representant of the group, named Victoire is the one with her hand raised in the photo. Victoire is 41 years old and lives in Benin.Victoire did not attend school. She is a widow and mother of five children who all go to school at her expense.Victoire lives alone with her children. She supports her own and her children's needs without assistance. In order to assure her various expenses, Victoire has sold fresh fish and different products (rice, vegetable oil etc.) in her boutique for the last four years. At the same time she sells wheat flour.Victoire buys her products in a town in Benin. In order to satisfy her customers and increase her turnover and her income, Victoire requests together with the other members of the Mahudjro 19 group a third loan from ALIDé.This loan will most probably enable them to enhance their activity and make more profit. The two previous loans were repaid correctly.
Le groupe MAHUDJRO 19 est composé de trois personnes qui sont des amies et qui vivent dans le même quartier. C'est la troisième fois que ce groupe sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Victoire est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Victoire est âgée de 41 ans et vit au Bénin. Victoire n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Victoire est une veuve et mère de cinq enfants tous scolarisés et à sa charge. Victoire vit seule avec ses enfants. Victoire assure seule ses divers besoins et ceux de ses enfants. Afin d’assurer ses diverses charges, Victoire vend depuis quatre ans, des poissons frais et divers produits (riz, huile végétale, etc.) dans sa boutique. Parallèlement, Victoire vend de la farine de blé. Victoire s’approvisionne dans une ville du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Victoire sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe MAHUDJRO 19, un troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Ce crédit leur permettra certainement de hausser le niveau de leur activité et de se faire plus de profits. Les deux premiers prêts ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
