A loan of $1,100 helped to buy computer spare parts, fizzy drinks and water.

Juanita Hisavel's story

The San Pedro Communal Bank meets every fortnight in the neighborhood by the same name located in Manta, a town renowned for her beautiful beaches, visited all over the year, and for being a city of unparalleled beauty with many tourist attractions.

Here we meet Juanita. She is 41 years old, she is married and she has 2 adult children and an 11-year-old child. All of her children live with her and they are all students: the first two study at the university and the youngest goes to school. Her husband is a taxi driver.

She runs her activity in her house: she sells computers, printers and their accessories and spare parts. She also owns a small vending machine with fizzy drinks and mineral water. She works every day helped by her children; she has been running this activity for 4 years and she can count on this good source of income without leaving her house.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy some computer spare parts that she needs as well as fizzy drinks and water. She has been a member of the Communal Bank for 11 years, and she like it because the loans are very important for her activity.

She wishes that her children become good professionals.
