A loan of $675 helped to buy all types of clothes.

Luisa Janely's story

The community bank Leónidas Proaño meets every two weeks in the neighborhood of the same name in the city of Manta, which is known for its beautiful beaches which are very popular all year round and for being a city of unequaled beauty with many tourist attractions.
Here we met Luisa, who is 36 years old and the single mother of a 12 year old daughter who is in high school. She lives with her parents along with her daughter and a sister. She has been a member of the community bank for 2 years and she likes it because, thanks to the loans, she has been successful and she started her business with the first loan.
She is a very good mother who, in order to get her own resources and bring up her daughter right, sells clothes. She sells from door to door and works three days a week for two or three hours a day. Most of her sales are made based on orders that her customers place. She sells her goods on credit and collects every two weeks. She travels to Quito and Ambato to buy her merchandise. She has been doing this for 2 years and, thanks to this, she is able to bring up her daughter alone. She mostly sells sleep ware.
This loan will be used to by clothing of all types.
Her dream is to give her daughter the best.
