Rogers is a farmer in Kitale in Western Kenya. He is 36 years old and married. He has 5 children, the first two are already attending school. He has been in farming for 5 years and produces beans, maize, millet, sweet potatoes and cassava. He also works as a tailor, for additional income.
Rogers has requested a loan of 50,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to help venture into the poultry business, which is currently experiencing a boom. He adds that the business income will help him improve his farming efforts on other products like dairy and sweet potatoes. This, in turn, will earn more income to educate the children.
He says drought and diseases are his major business challenges.
