Gia is from the village of Nigoiti. He is 44 years old and lives with his two sons (17 and 13 years old) and his 66-year-old mother. Both children go to school.
Gia works in a car repairing workshop in the village. He paints cars. Along with his main job, he is actively involved in the family agricultural business. They have a milk cow and a calf. Gia’s mother produces cheese and sells on average 10 kilos of this product in the village. Along with the above-mentioned, the family owns a 7-hectare plot of land, where maize is grown. Gia sells approximately 14 tons of maize to retailers on the local open market. The total average monthly income for the family is 1,200 Laris, including Gia’s mother's monthly pension.
Gia requested credit for purchasing an additional one hectare of land. He will grow maize on a wider area and will harvest more maize; consequently, the income of the family will increase. Gia plans to use the increased income for financing the education of his children.
