Blanca se dedica a la actividad de la confección desde hace aproximadamente 17 años, gracias a esto ha podido contribuir junto con su esposo al sostenimiento de los gastos de su hogar. Blanca es madre de 2 hijos a quienes siempre les ha querido ofrecer todo lo necesario, es por esto que debido a que los ingresos que generaba su esposo no eran suficientes para poder sostener todos los gastos de su hogar, Blanca decidió montar un taller de confección donde ofrece el servicio de confección a terceros. Blanca, gracias a la buena calidad de los servicios que ofrece, ha podido captar una muy buena clientela, lo que le ha permitido tener muy buenas ventas. Blanca actualmente quiere aumentar la capacidad de producción de su taller de confección con el ánimo de poder pagar los estudios universitarios de su hijo menor, es por esto que aspira a que un préstamo le brinde la oportunidad de acceder a la compra de una máquina plana para aumentar la capacidad de producción de su taller.

Blanca espera que de esta manera pueda cumplir su sueño de que sus hijos accedan a una educación universitaria, además, de poder mejorarle la calidad de vida a su familia. This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
