Mrs. Em is from Kompong Cham province of Cambodia. She is 43 years old and has been working as a farmer for more than 20 years. She learned this business from her parents who spent a lot of effort motivating her. She has a life partner with her husband and has been blessed with 3 school-age children.
This is her first loan from Kiva lenders. She would like to acquire to sustain her farming business. She will pay for a rented farmland, which she will plants bean crops. And with the rest of the funds, she will purchase fertilizers, bean seeds and pesticides to take care of her crops in new growth.
Mrs. Em’s dream is to improve the quality of life of her three dependent children and provide them a further education.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
