She has been working in handicrafts for years, making jewelry sets from precious stones such as pieces of quartz, stones, pearls, etc. A set consists of 4 pieces, including: a necklace, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. In addition, she gives private lessons from her home where she sells the materials and also charges by the hour. Ximena is divorced and has two school-aged daughters who help her make the jewelry. In addition, she makes cakes during the week, for which she always has at least one order. She will use this loan that she is requesting to buy supplies, because she has a large number of orders from a dance troupe that will participate in upcoming carnivals. Also, she anticipates that her orders will increase during this time, and so this is the reason that she is requesting financing from Kiva.
