Mrs. Kat is a 45-year-old married woman, living in Ornlong Veng district with her husband and three single children. Her oldest child has already started a new family. Kat is engaged in a farming business to generate her income. She grows her crops based on the season: rice in the rainy season and vegetables and potatoes in the dry season.
Now she would like to ask for a loan from HKL, a partner of Kiva, to purchase farming materials such as seeds, fertilizers and some necessary tools. She is very appreciative for the support of her business. Her living conditions will improve through this loan.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
