13 women from the city of San Lorenzo have united in the hope of working together and supporting each other through their joint work. They are very hard-working and tenacious people which is why their group is called "Mujeres Luchadoras" (Tenacious Women). They want a better future for their families and their children.

One of these women is Ysidora, who tells us that she works from very early in the morning every day in her grocery store. She says that she started out with a small business but, thanks to the hard work that she has put in, she has managed to grow her business and is therefore able to help her family. She would like to be able to continue expanding her business and be able to continue helping her family.

Ysidora is requesting help from Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva so that she can buy canned food, dairy products, drinks and vegetables with which to stock her business. This way she will have products in stock to offer her customers.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
