Abel is from the village Vartsikhe, West Georgia. He is 39 years old, unmarried and lives with his mother (retired). The family owns a milk cow. They sell milk to local dairy product retailers. Along with the dairy, Abel has a 1.75 hectare vineyard. He sells grapes, as well as homemade wine. Abel also owns a small grocery store in the village. He purchases grocery products in nearby towns’ wholesale markets and sells them in his store. Total average monthly income of the family, including Abel’s mother monthly pension, is 230 GEL.
Abel requested credit to increase stock in the store. Once he offers a wide assortment of products, the amount of the clients will increase, followed by increase in sales and income. Abel and his mother will be able to spend more on satisfying their daily needs. It will improve their living conditions.
