A loan of $1,575 helped to purchase a tractor.

Ilia's story

Ilia is from the village of Khashmi, East Georgia. He is 42 years old, married and lives with his family: his wife named Tamara, his 18-year-old daughter and his 16-year-old son.

Tamara leads the agricultural business of the family, which is one of the important sources of income for the family. Ilia is also actively involved in family farming. They own a dairy farm with 4 milk cows. Tamara produces cheese and sells it in the village to dairy products retailers. In spring and summer seasons, Ilia rents a tractor and provides tilling, moving and other seasonal works to neighbor farmers for a certain fee. The total average monthly income of the family is 400 Laris.

Ilia requested credit for purchasing a tractor. Once he has his own tractor, he won’t have to pay rent for it and the income of the family will increase. Ilia and Tamara plan to make some savings from the increased income for investing in the dairy farm, in order to raise its profitability and improve family living conditions in the future.
